GOP Promises Investigations – Just What We Need (venting)

I read this article this morning on Politico , where GOP leaders in the House and Senate are promising “waves” of White House investigations.  Everything from ACORN to The New Black Panther Party is on the table.  Basically, what they are promising is the same bullshit grandstanding that went on during the Clinton administration.  Remember how offended all of the liars and adulterers were when Clinton lied about his adultery?  I wonder if they will get around to investigating where tens  of billions of dollars have gone in Iraq… oh wait thats a real issue.

This is exactly what I don’t want.  I didn’t want massive investigations into Bush from the Dems, although looking into lying us into war would have been nice, and I don’t want massive petty investigations into Obama.  With the current economic situation and a war going on, why the fuck are they going to waste time on The New Black Panther Party pseudo-scandal?  Well the reason is simple, they don’t give a shit about making things better for the nation as a whole they only care about winning an election in 2012.  I realize that almost all politicians care about elections first.  I am not naive to that reality.  But the lengths the GOP will go to in order to regain full power is sickening.

I question whether these politicians care about Americans at all or if we are just pawns to be used.  Sorry for the venting, but this story really pissed me off and is exactly the reason I have NEVER voted for either party.  Especially the un-American pieces of shit that are the Republican Party.

Pre-State of the Union Thoughts

So, tonight is the State of the Union address and if have t say I find it to be one of the most disgusting political displays of the year.  I’m not just talking about this year, I am talking about the event as it is currently constituted.  First of all the POTUS walking into the halls of Congress as if he were a king is just plain nauseating. Hey, Congress, you are a separate and equal branch of government who is meant to check the power of the POTUS, so stop fawning and clapping.  I am sick of standing ovations every three seconds for the most innocuous comments or decrees, and I certainly cannot take all of the post speech grandstanding from both sides.  I think Obama is a very thoughtful man, and my hope is that in the first few lines of the speech he says ” Ladies and gentleman, I am here not for your applause or approval; I am here to give a true and sobering view of our nation.  This is not a time for grandstanding or back-patting; it is a time to get our hands dirty and fight for the reforms that are needed.  If we cannot work as one through compromise, then we are failing the citizens of this country…”

Of course the more likely outcome is “Ladies (standing ovation)… and (standing ovation)… gent (smattering of applause)lemen(standing ovation)…”

Michaele and Tareq Salahi Should Go To Jail.

Michaele and Tareq Salahi, two fame whore wannabe reality stars, found their way into a White House dinner.  I realize nothing shocks us at this point, but the fact that these two evaded or tricked the Secret Service is a scary proposition.  Hopefully the agents who failed at their jobs will be reprimanded and the Salahis will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  I do not know if they technically broke any laws but even if they jaywalked on the way to the White House they should be hit for that.  The fame seeking couple needs to pay the price as an example to others to be careful how far you will go to get on TV.  I can think of no excuse why they should be given any leniency.  This is an actual national security issue, and they should be treated as such .
